When a (new) customer signs up for my list, they get a confirmation email. When they order something after that, and check the box again, they get the confirmation email again. Is it possible to only send one confirmation email per email address?

    Hi @leoniehoever,

Is it possible to only send one confirmation email per email address?

Unfortunately, this is not possible at the moment, as they will receive a confirmation email per each list/form they subscribe to.

If they subscribe to a different list, they should receive it so they’re aware they have been added to a new list or their email address was used to be subscribed to a list for them.

It means that if a subscriber subscribes again through your form, they should receive a confirmation email, as explained here. This happens due to privacy and security purposes.

    I hope that’s clearer.

    Thanks!

    I don’t completely understand.

I have only one list. When customers return and buy something and check the box again (unintentionally perhaps), the email is not added to the list, as it was already on the list. Why should they receive another confirmation email? They don’t expect another confirmation email, I think. No one like the confirmation emails to begin with.

Is there really no way to avoid this? I’m thinking of changing to a different email service if there isn’t, it really bothers me.

    Hi again @leoniehoever!

I am not sure I am understanding your case 100% but customers that were already subscribers will get that email because they get added to the WooCommerce list when they purchase and check the Opt-in checkbox.

I am afraid that there is no way to avoid confirmation emails from being sent if you are using the MailPoet Sending Service.

While this is not recommended at all, you could disable confirmation emails under ‘MailPoet > Settings’ if you decided to use a third-party sending service (under ‘MailPoet > Settings > Send with’… tab) .

I hope this helps and clarifies your questions!

    Cheers
