Multiple Category Search filter

Hello.
I have been searching everywhere for how to implement a multiple category search in my category.php. WITHOUT A PLUGIN.
If someone can stick with me on this one and help me get this done that would be great.
Im not sure if I am doing this right, I really need a step by step kinda thing.
