We have a product with multiple categories but the google category, although mapped, returning no value. Your help file reads (no Yoast)

The plugin will add only one category to your Google Shopping feed (Google only accepts one category), in this case the plugin will pick the category which is highest in your category-tree (hence: with the lowest category ID) and also use that category for your category mapping and filter/rules. For all other feeds it will add all categories to the feeds.

our feed is below, example is the product with ‘unicorn’ in it (mapped to both Cushion and Kids category)

  • Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.

Did you make sure you did the entire Google category mapping? So mapped all your WooCommerce categories to the correct Google categories? Make sure not to leave any mapping empty.

Thank you for quick response. Yes, all categories is mapped and green (to 7096 and 4175).

Both categories serve the Google Category fine if the product belongs to only one of them. But if there are 2 categories, the feed does not return any Google Category line at all. That is the common denominator of the problematic ones.

g:google_product_category is also mapped to Category

Can you please share with us the plugin debug.log so we can see how you configured your feed? Instructions on how to retrieve the plugin debug.log can be found here: https://adtribes.io/send-your-debug-log-to-support/

Here it is, please check [project_hash] => h0pZ7jEPrjDtiiGbm4ATY3Mo18FDqc5R (other feeds are using static category until I solve this problem)

Thanks for this, I cannot find anything wrong with the feed configuration and category mapping itself, they look fine to me.

The next step would be to look at the product configuration and settings. Are you perhaps using server-side or object/database caching? If so, it might be worthwhile making a change to one of the products that are not working….any change will do and hit the save button. That will reset the (object) caching after which you need to refresh the product feed to see if it makes a difference.

I am using WP Fastest Cache and Cloudflare, I edited the product <g:id>3273</g:id> and purged all caches but still same issue.
