• Hi, All,

I have a site that has both a weekly news column and a daily calendar of events. I would like to have these columns function like blogs (easy to post updates, archive past news, link to full articles, etc.) but still appear as columns on the page.

Can I do this with WordPress? If not, can I have at ONE column on a page that is a blog set amongst other content?

    Thanks!

  • I assume you call “blog” what we would call “post or entry”.
(Usually we refer to ‘blog’ as the whole installation of WP.)
Anyway, I’d say yes, it can be done with WP, though the “calendar of events” is not a built in feature. There used to be an EventCalendar plugin, but I think it has issues with the newest WP release. WP has a built-in calendar but that shows ALL the posts made.

    Moshu,

Thank you for your reply. By Calendar of events, I didn’t mean it needed to look like a calendar. It’s just a formatted text listing. I’ll have to think through how that will work though. I guess if each update of the calendar is a new blog entry, then the old ones won’t be visible in the same entry. hmmm.
