I’m used to using wordpress the default way, blog page as the homepage and then sub-pages for other information.

Is it possible to create a page that also has the blog functionality or do I have to keep opening up the page and adding to it?

I’d like to create pages of different subjects/categories and have them pool on their own page.

  • How would these pages be different from category pages?

Category is just a tag isn’t it for searching or narrowing content on the main blog page? I can’t create content in a post form and have it publish anywhere but on the blog page can I? I wish to have it publish on a different page.

For example lets say I review books, hard back and paper back and I don’t want all on the main page. I wish to create one page for each and be able to post articles to their respective pages. This is easy with the main page as it’s what wordpress does, but on any other page, they’re more like static pages right?

you can put posts in a page with this plugin

It’s a bit more than that. It’s a way of grouping your posts together on their own listing page.

If you;re prepared to edit your theme, you can exclude posts from specific categories from appearing on your home page but still have them listing in their own category pages.

No – you can still use posts. You can exclude all reviews from your home page but still have a page that lists all of your hardback reviews and another that lists your paperback reviews.

Thank you, will put to good use.

    I’m new to wordpress.
always used Dreamweaver till now where you can open multiple “pages” just like multi tabs on your browser so editing, copying etc between pages is a breeze.
Is there any way to open multiple pages for editing within wordpress so I can cut and paste between pages and set up links easily.

Currently it’s a time-wasting drag to have to open 1 page at a time.
