    Hi,

I’m using elementor to build my site and uploading videos from youtube. I created the points to award users with badges and ranks.

I would like to -watch a specific video- to unlock a specific badge or rank using Multimedia Content Interactions. It gives me the option to choose the video and it gives the ID of the media as well: #2588. (no luck with youtube interaction so far too…I want to use elementor widget to place the youtube video and it doesn’t allow me to use the code – [gamipress_youtube url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72xdCU__XCk” width=”640″ height=”360″ autoplay=”no” controls=”yes”])

For now I would be satisfied just with the Multimedia Content Integration and Upload directly on the pages I need…(using elementor widget to upload the videos would be much better because I can host videos elsewhere and they allow more options to customize the video like thumbnail and suggested videos at the end…)

Unfortunately, when I use the WordPress widget to place the video on a specific page it doesn’t unlock the badge. It’s not tracking/detecting the video.

Oh yeah, I did deactivated all plugins before with no luck ??
using theme Twenty Sixteen Version: 2.0

    What am I missing?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @rodimusprime01

There are many things you need to meet

    For our Youtube integration:
    – Have you tried this shortcode on a plain page? Without elementor?
    – I don’t know exactly how elementor works, but the widget you should use is someone that brings you the ability to place shortcodes
    – Do you have another Youtube plugin that could block our Youtube integration scripts? Try to deactivate it
    – Do you have a cache plugin or assets optimizer? Those plugin can cause issues with new plugins scripts

    For our Multimedia Content add-on:
    – Remember that this add-on only works with the WordPress standard player, if you have a plugin that loads a custom player will stop our events
    – Also, it only will work with the WordPress [video] and [audio] shortcodes (or their blocks version)

Also, after place the video, check that you have correctly configured you achievement to match the video requirements, and for both add-ons, the event only will get triggered if the user fully watches the video, skipping some parts won’t trigger the event

    Hope it helps

    Best regards

    Hi @rubengc

I’m trying the Multimedia Content add-on, if it works It would be fine for now and I will try youtube later…
I’ve recorded a video of what I’m doing. Am I using the wrong WordPress widget/block? or is there something wrong with the achievements set up? The comment to unlock badge or upload file to unlock badge is working fine. I did comment and upload a file and the badge was automatically unlocked.Only the watch a specific video seems to be the problem…
here’s the link for the video:

    Thanks in advance

    Hi @rodimusprime01

For the Multimedia Content add-on check the following things:
    1) Check that event you setup on the step is the correct one (for example, check if you aren’t using the “Watch a video” event from Youtube add-on)
    2) Check that you have placed the video using the WordPress [video] shortcode
    3) Fully watch the video

I just checked your video from the URL you provide (3rd video) and it triggers correctly the “watch a video” event with the URL:
    https://membership.alphabrainartstudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Wolverine-vs-Hulk_01.mp4?_=1

So probably the issue is a wrong setup on your achievement step

    Best regards

    Hey @rubengc

I was able to solve the problem using the code: [video src="video-source.mp4"]. it even works on Elementor.
Indeed was a mistake I’ve made on the points set up.

    Thanks very much.

    Hey @rubengc

I thought I have had solve this one but, when I created a new user, to test everything, it showed the same problem…The media content didn’t detected the video… I’m sketching my head here. Why it worked on previews users and it’s not working on the new one? I think I’ve done everything according to the documents on https://gamipress.com/docs/getting-started/
created the points, achievements and ranks. Used the video codes [video src="https://membership.alphabrainartstudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Wolverine-vs-Hulk_01.mp4"] to trigger the events and it was working even on elementor… Now with the new user it stoped working. ??
    I don’t know what is it I’m doing wrong…
Sorry about this man, I really tried to solve this by my own.
Could you walk me through it please.
    Thanks

    Hi @rodimusprime01

Probably, have you added any new plugins to your site? or any custom code?

If things are working previously, they should continue working
When something stop to work you need to recheck the latest changes you made on your site to see if something has broke your site functionalities

    Best regards

    Hey @rubengc

No, not really, didn’t add any new plugins or custom codes…

Today I tested everything with this new user:
The add a comment on specific page is working,
upload new files to specific page is working,
click the link to unlock rank is working,

the only one not working is the multimedia content integration…

it’s funny because on the achievements Required Steps I can choose the video from media library with the plugin, it shows:
    Wolverine-vs-Hulk_01 (#2588)
and the shortcode I’m using is:
    [video src="https://membership.alphabrainartstudio.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/Wolverine-vs-Hulk_01.mp4"]

unfortunately it’s not detecting it when I test in private browsing….the reference/ID #2588 doesn’t show in the media library or the link…

As you said they should continue to work as I tested it before with different user… I have no idea what may be causing it not to work…

    Hi @rodimusprime01

You can try to remove the points award and add a new one with the same setup

Or also, try to reupload the video and configure a new points award with this new uploaded video

Regarding the video ID, is an internal reference that WordPress uses to identify your video, don’t worry about it

The Multimedia Content add-on works perfectly on a clean install and all its events gets triggered properly so sure the unique issue on your site is a wrong setup

    Best regards

    (@rodimusprime01)

    Hey @rubengc

I’ll try uploading new video and create new points for this event, I’m sure it’s a setup problem because every other set up add-on is working… just having a hard time finding what is it…
I’ll let you know when I figure it out

    Cheers,
    Rod
