• My site is set to currency = USD $
Site is set to multicurrency in WooCommerce.
Vipps is not showing up as payment option in Checkout page (maybe because site currency is set to USD ? )
Norwegians will see the amount to pay in NOK , as the site is set to multicurrency ..
Do Vipps have problem to get the the amount in NOK to pay , from the converision WooCommerce is doing ?

Why is Vipps not coming up as Payment Option in Checkout ?

    Be welcome to test it…

Vipps-Keys and merchatn number are in, no problem with them

    Says:
Vipps does not support your currency. Vipps will only be available as a payment option when currency is NOK”

Is there any way around this ?

Strange. using Chrome vipps is showing as payment option.. than the issue is that Firefox is not using/showing the prices in NOK, but Chrome do…. find from my IP I am in Norway, and give NOK

NOK is (currently still) required, yes. There is a filter

    apply_filters('woo_vipps_is_available', $ok, $this);

Receiving a boolean and the Gateway object which should return true only if Vipps is actually available.

The check on currency uses get_woocommerce_currency() – I think your multi-currency plugin should return the correct for this, but as you say, there may be issues here with ip-based location lookup or whatnot. If so, and you are certain that the process-payment call to Vipps will be using NOK, you can override the “is_available”-filter.

    Thanks Iver.

is still there. I still have USD default for WooComm in settings, but VIPPS is showing… good

My User (Admin) was having default currency USD in profile info. When I changed that to NOK, Vipps was showing up, even if USD is default for my site.. and prices for products are in USD.. I will try to get a “Currency Switcher Widget” in topmenu now, to make sure for all in Norway what currency it is set at, so when NOK is set, Vipps will show up…

Hopefully there is free “Currency Switcher” plugin ?

I think there are several; but I can’t speak to the quality of each.

You are probably going to get the error message there as long as the “default” currency is other-than-NOK; but the currency actually used to determine if Vipps is available is the one produced by the function I mentioned, which should be sensitive to currency switchers etc.
