Multi-User Site

Hi.

I’m making a site that has a main page with links to areas maintained by the other authors. There will be roughly 10 coauthors. The main page is just a flat index. The author areas can have blogs, downloads, and other things.

WordPress does have the ability to have multiple users (authors) in a single database. After looking at several dozen WordPress sites and templates, though, I haven’t seen a single site like the one I’m making.

I’m starting to wonder if WordPress is really a good tool for this. Any thoughts? Seeing an existing site that looks like this would be very helpful, especially if there were clear setup instructions.

By the way, if you send a post with no title to these forums, WordPress tells you something like, “Please make a title”, but when you return to enter the title, the entire post is gone. I had to write this post twice. A similar thing happens when you enter information for a new blog user and omit the email address.
