I’m using 4.7-RC1-39355 on a Multi-Site and Multi-Network installation. Since upgrading to the RC I cannot login to the non-primary sites on a network that use a top level domain. For example mysite.com is the primary domain on the network and mysitestore.com is another domain/site on the same network. I can login to mysite.com without a problem, but when trying to login to mysitestore.com I get an error stating “ERROR: Cookies are blocked or not supported by your browser. You must enable cookies to use WordPress.”. If I change mysitestore.com to store.mysite.com I can login to it without a problem plus logging in to either site mysite.com or store.mysite.com logs me into both sites.

    Hi,

This sounds like a problem with whatever plugin you are using to map domains not properly defining the login cookie address, which plugin do you use for this so that we can check if it’s a regression to any changes we’ve made or a problem with the plugin?

I don’t use a domain mapping plugin. After creating an additional site on the network as a subdomain I use the edit link to change it to a top level domain.

That would most likely be the cause then.

Since the network site root (mysite.com) is the base for all logins to yoru site, you need a plugin that handles URLs in the code so that they become correct if you have other domains for other sites.

You should read https://halfelf.org/2014/mapping-domains-without-plugin/ about how do properly domain map without a plugin.

    Thank you both.

Apparently the odd thing is it let me log in to the site when I set it up the weekend before upgrading to the RC. I guess that was the anomaly?
