Using the Word press Multi site feature. I created a network of 7 blogs with ‘Suffusion” as the theme.

Instead of using the MU mapping plugin I used the mapping feature listed bellow

    https://ottopress.com/2010/wordpress-3-0-multisite-domain-mapping-tutorial/

I have come to a point where I need to re map the site and deleting the plugin from the hosting doesn’t work. It seems as if the settings are still saved on the back end.

Can you please instruct me on how to removing whatever setting may have been saved?

I am using Godaddy as my host and MYSQL as the database

In the header section where it says things like

    /*
    Theme Name: Twenty Tenvy
    Theme URI: http: //example.com/
Description: My Theme based on Twenty Ten
    Author: Your name here
    Author URI: http: //example.com/about/
    Version: 0.1.0
    */

I just generated my error logs. I am waiting for them to kick in with hopes of solving the network admin issue

Change the folder name and the name in style.css

    So yes, change “Theme Name”

    (@eastcoastx)

Ok, Ive changed the theme folder and theme name in style.css

I still cant access my network admin to network enable the theme.

By any chance could the back logs have changed when i put the home.php file in my root directory?

It worked fine up until then

    “back logs”?

And … why did you put home.php in your root directory? It goes in the THEME folder, as Andrea said.

yeah he put it there before I told him where it went.

Im Sorry,I did put it in the theme folder in the theme directory.

Not sure if it matters, my wp-content folder is in the root directory

    html/
        wp-content/
                   themes/
                          suffusion/home.php

the root directory holds the multisite config files

when i say back logs….I’m questioning if my network admin was affected by the home.php change. even tho i removed the home.php file I know sometimes i need to change things behind the scenes…hence “back logs”

    database?
    config files?
just files in the back end

I can now access my error logs

what should i be looking for?

i see htaccess with 4 other error logs

Tossing a home.php file into a theme should not affect the admin area. At all.

There’s no relation from one to the other.

I can now access my error logs

what should i be looking for?

Go hit your network admin area. Then look at the most recent line in the error log. what does it say?

.I’m questioning if my network admin was affected by the home.php change

    Highly unlikely.

The back END (not back log ?? ) of your site is generally independent of the theme. And since you couldn’t get in BEFORE you made the theme, it’s not likely to be the cause.

But. To test, do you still have /html/wp-content/themes/twentyten on your server? If so, make a backup of suffusion and delete it from the server. That will kick your site back to the default, Twenty Ten, theme, and we can see if it was your theme.

Also, do you have plugins in the mu-plugins folder?

these are some of the errors i received from my host. I can not log in to my network admin to see errors

I was able to log in to the network admin until I placed the home.php file in the themes folder on my root directory

[Tue May 31 12:06:37 2011] [error] [client ] Directory index forbidden by Options directive: /var/chroot/home/content/21/7805621/html/

i tried renaming the suffusion theme on my host and i get a white screen.

    Directory index forbidden

Means the folder or file permissions or ownership is wrong.
