Hi Everyone. I am new to WordPress and this forum. What I would like to know and if you can help me is: I was told I needed a multi-site license in order to work with multiple sites in WordPress. I would like to get this before I start building my sites. Would anyone happen to know where I can get this so called license? Your help would be most appreciated.
    Thank you

You were told wrong. WordPress is GPL. The multisite feature is also GPL.

This means you have the freedom to use it how you see fit, build what you want, and alter it however you like.

So I DON’T need a license!! Yay thank you so much!! I can start building my sites. I hope I can build them that is. If I can build websites in Dreamweaver, then this shouldn’t be too much harder right?

Working with WordPress is easy. While purists would not like for me to tell you this, Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 and 5.5 offer compatibility with WordPress. So if you are used to using Dreamweaver, you still can use Dreamweaver. I’ve only seen a demo as I do not use Dreamweaver since CS3. Have fun!

I’m an ‘If it works for you, it’s good!’ purist ??

That said, there’s no reason for DreamWeaver since you can just edit posts in WordPress. Save a bit of agony. Themeing’s a different matter.

You do not need to use Dreamweaver to write posts. WordPress does that publishing for you.

I would also go back to whomever told you the wrong information about the license and send them the link I gave you.

Ipstenu and Andrea_r, yes that’s what I meant. Dreamweaver supports WordPress for theme development, not for content development. Thanks for the correction!

?? I only noted it because I’ve answered posts where people had done just that.

Thank you everyone for your input. I think I’ll be ok with this. Just now I will get back to the person who told me I needed a license and send them the link.
Again thank you so much. You all are a bunch of wonderful people.
