This is a good idea but it doesn’t work.

It installed it both ways: network and then in the separate site. Each time nothing happens. No menu. No link. Nothing. In fact if I install it on the network, then activate it on the site the site plugin disappears. To turn it off and see it again, I have to go to the network.

I finally gave up and deleted it.

    Reginald,

The interface is located in a different location for Multisite.

Go to Network Admin > Themes > Child Themes

The stylesheet for a child theme is global to the network just like any other theme. This is why it is not available to the individual site.

i cann′t use th plugin with multisite. i have installed the plugin, not aktivate on the admin for all site, only an the site i want to use it. i have no child-theme yet

there are no way to Child-Themes “Network Admin > Themes > Child Themes”, only “Network Admin > Themes, “installed” “add new” or “edit”, there i can see and aktivate all my themes i installed for all sites.

if i activate the plugin in the subsite, so i do not see “Child-Theme”-point at tools.

i have german version of wordpress

    Witrol,

You must first “Network Activate” the plugin. Then the link to the options page is under Network Admin > Themes.

You must have the capability to “install themes” to use the plugin. Each child theme must be “Network Enabled” to be visible to individual sites. This is why it is under Network Admin for multisite.

If you continue to have difficulty, please post a screenshot to our contact form and we will troubleshoot further.

ok i get it, but i wanna create an childtheme for my second-site, not for Main-Site. Possible is only for the main-site. have I to activate the second-site-theme for the main-site for creating und changing that?

    Witrol,

Themes are not tied to any site. When you network enable a theme (or child theme), it becomes available for use by all the network sites.

The Child Theme Configurator lets you edit the theme stylesheets and files, but the changes you make there will apply to any network site using the child theme.

Each network site has its own “Theme Mods” (via Customizer). Child Theme Configurator does not apply changes to theme mods, only the theme files.

We are adding the ability to copy theme mods from any site/parent theme combination to any site/child theme combination in CTC Pro 2.1, but this is not available yet.
