Multi-Site Compatible? remove /category from URL

Why “remove /category from URL” doesn`t work still in Multi-Site?
Url changes (from https://site.com/category/p1/ to https://site.com/p1/), but I get 404 error in new url (https://site.com/category/p1/).
and old url works fine https://site.com/category/p1/ without redirect to new url.1 year ago and this bug not fix!
