• Hello All,

I’ve been asked to look at providing word press for a large number of students (1000+). I’ve installed and have a play around with word press and have now got a Multi-site installed(latest version) I’ve got authentication working (Using Active Directory Integration v 1.0_ via active directory but just missing a few final bits.

Currently when a user new user logs in. They get option to change detail etc. At which point i would have to go to the network admin and create and link the blog to the users.

Can this be automated? When the student logs in for the first time a blog etc and permissions created?

  • No. AD support isn’t built in to WordPress and there aren’t any plugins around that do that, that I’ve found. You could always write your own plugin to do this.

I’ve got it authenticate via ad already. I just wanted the site to auto create the blog on initial log in.

That’s what I’m saying — auto creating blogs on first log-in from AD isn’t available. I’ve done a brief scan of the AD plugins out there and nobody seems to be doing that yet.
