    Hi

I think I’ve discovered a flaw in the way that you process QR codes for multi-purchase tickets.

Right now, if X tickets for the same event are purchased then, although each QR code is unique, each ticket can be checked in up X number of times. Although the total number of check-ins will never exceed the amount purchased, it does mean that each ticket is not, in fact, unique, and could cause problems.

    For example:

3 tickets are purchased and one each given to Rod, Jane and Freddie.

Rod then photocopies his ticket and gives them to his 2 friends.

If Rod and his pals arrive before the others their tickets will all work, even though they have the same QR code, but Jane and Freddie’s tickets will not work as the max. number of people have already been checked in.

    Hey @petervandoorn,

Your assessment is correct in how it works. There have been conversations in the past, internal and external, addressing this very situation. The result in the past has been that the situation you describe above is rare and acceptable; however, perhaps it needs another pass. I will spark another internal conversation about it, and toss around some ideas about potential solutions for it also. Thanks for bring this up again, even though it has been dismissed in the past, because past decisions in any situation, should be reassessed at normal intervals to ensure that they still apply. I will keep you posted about this.

I found the same issue. Since it is restricted to a single order with multiple tickets I can see how it may not be a huge problem.

Maybe a temporary workaround to help minimize this would be to send an email to the original purchaser whenever a ticket, or tickets was used for entrance. That way at least they can tell something is up.

This seems like an issue that needs addressing if this is to be used for large events. People apparently are very dishonest at times.
