Multi language web site from WordPress

  • Dear all ,

    I would like to create multi language web site from WordPress.
    for example ,

    1. when a user logged in from china text should be loaded in Chinese . So English for other countries.

    2. when a Chinese user access the web site from UK, since the default language for other countries is English , Chinese guy should be able to select Chinese language as he wish.

    is this possible ? can somebody help me on this ?

  • If your site requires very specific text that is a direct translation, you would want to create sub-domains for each language. ch.site.com, en.site.com, es.site.com – etc.

    Each sub would be in that language – many themes and plugins have versions for this language. The content would need to be written in each language at each sub-site.

    If the content is very ‘translatable’ you could use a translate plugin or code from Google.

    Also, please note that modern browsers have built in language detection and offer page translation.
