It appears that this plugin only detects the root domain of a multi-domain SSL certificate. I have 2 sites that use the same multi-domain wildcard cert (https://www.infomentor.se and https://www.infomentor.is), but while this plugin can auto-detect the .se (the root domain), it fails to detect the .is domain listed within the certificate.

    Hi @imoperations,

Where did you see the indication in the plugin that the “.is” domain does not have a valid SSL certificate?

All you should have to do is click Activate SSL in the Dashboard to let the plugin enforce SSL on the site. When I check that site in my own browser, or with a tool like SSL Labs, the results are indeed perfectly fine and the site already works correctly over HTTPS/SSL.

Are you still experiencing any issues?

    Kind regards, Jarno

    Hi Jarno,

During the initial setup of the plugin on the IS site it said it could not detect the SSL certificate, so I had to use the manual activation override. It’s not a big issue, but I noticed that the SSL detection improves the overall config score.

    Hi @imoperations,

Thanks for your clarification, now I better understand what you’re referring to.

It could also be that the check that the plugin performs to verify the certificate was somehow blocked (or didn’t succeed for some other reason) in the case of one of these sites, whereby it resulted in the “could not detect SSL certificate” notice appearing as well.

In your case this is not an issue though, there is in fact a valid SSL certificate enabled & enforced on your sites. Regardless, I will try to validate your report on my end to check if this might indeed be related to the warning appearing.

    Kind regards, Jarno
