    Yes, this was added in the recent update. In a future update we’ll be adding a nice form element for this. Right now it needs to be done with the field class option, similar to the doc you found.

    Use one of the following field classes:

    wpforms-checkbox-2-columns
    wpforms-checkbox-3-columns

    Or for checkbox field

    wpforms-multiplechoice-2-columns
    wpforms-multiplechoice-3-columns
