• is it possible to create a something similar to DMOZ with This plugin?

I would like to create a webdirectory, with categories, and sub-categories.

The main functionality i want is the subcategories, and being able to have relations btw categories, e.g clicking on the subcategory computer/games will take one back to to games/Video_Games

archive of Dmoz page with link to Computers section

Is that something that can be accomplished with link Library? and if so got any tips, tutorials that includes functionality similar to what I want to create?

    Thanks in advance.
    Ifo

First off, sorry for the lack of response. I was very busy travelling for work over the past few months.

Now, in terms of what you are asking for, DMOZ has a lot of complexity that could not be easily expressed using Link Library. For example, DMOZ has hierarchies of pages that map to a hierarchy of categories. Link Library can only automatically generate pages for top-level categories. Therefore, you would need to manually generate all of the pages for your site and insert the [link-library] shortcode in each of them, specifying what category to display. As your number of categories goes up, managing such a hierarchy of pages would be very time-consuming.

Next, dmoz seems to have a concept of category placefolders that bring you to other places in the hierarchy. I don’t see a way to do this in Link Library.
