Mulitisite is not creating Subsites

    Hello,

    I have a new multisite installation and it is not creating subsites. Actually it says it is creating the subsite but when I click on the login, this is the error I get:

    Not Found

    The requested URL /~optionre/index.php was not found on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    I get this error when I get notififcation via e-mail.

    But when I click on the subsite on the back end, I get this error:

    Forbidden

    You don’t have permission to access /cgi-bin/ on this server.

    Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Can someone please let me know what this error means?

    Are your subsites subFOLDERS or subDOMAINS?

    They are subdomains.

    Okay, how did you set up subdomains on the servers?

    Because that error means you’re pointing them to the wrong location on your server.

    Hello,

    That was correct. I was pointing the wildcard to the wrong location. I was supposed to point my wildcard to my wp-config file which I did. Now, my subsites are working! Thanks, for your help. You were correct.
