• Hello,

I’m running this plugin on a multisite installation. For each site that I want to track, I’ve set up an individual view in our Google Analytics account. Then, back on the WordPress side, I have each of those sites mapped to their respective view.

But the GA plugin dashboard is still showing traffic for ALL my sites, which I do not want. I only want it to display for THAT individual site (screenshot here: https://imgur.com/LwOM6IF).

    How do I achieve this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Hello, For MU sites in subdirectories, you’ll need to create a filter for those individual views to only include the contents of that subdirectory.

Be sure to have created an unfiltered view, that you never add any filters to. Because filters are destructive, and the data can never be recovered.

So adding filters in GA is to be done very carefully and cautiously, and should only be done as a last resort. Segments are typically a better solution, but not applicable in this case.

Thank you for this information. So do I understand correctly that what you’re saying is the only way to do this is to create a filter view but that is really only a last resort because they can be destructive?

    Thanks again.

Were you able to get this working? I have the same problem. The only pages to show up in analytics are the main site pages. All the sub directories dont show up at all… Trying to figure out how to get the filters to work. Would be great if the plugin makers would provide some documentation on how to set up the plugin with multisite…

    Hi jazkobo,

No, I haven’t gotten it working yet. I have created unfiltered views for each of my sub-sites within Google Analytics, as the plugin author suggests, then in the plugin general settings for each sub-site, I have the plugin mapped to that view. Yet, what gets displayed in the dashboard of each site is not stats for THAT site but for the overall site.

    Thanks
    Moose
