It is intentional that mt.php, used for importing blog entries from movable type, strips span tags? Is there any way to turn it off?

    Thanks,
    Tim

I’ve got this one too. Try using the old import-mt.php and the tags will be there when you import the entries.

There’s a modified import-mt.php that also import the entries ID to the WordPress, but I couldn’t find a way to display the comments correctly, altough they’re there and correctly imported to their respective posts. Any ideas, anyone?

Is this a bug with wordpress? Should I be filing a bug instead?

Well, I followed someone else’s advise and copied kses.php to my-hacks.php and included the tags I’ve missed with the import. Then, I’ve erased all the tables and imported the data again… and it worked!

Just to help you out, this is my “my-hacks.php”. If you want, copy at your own risk. Good luck!
