MT to WP Permalink Redirect

  • I’m moving from MT to WP and am having an issue with redirecting permalinks…
    In MT my archives were like:
    website.com/archives/the_category_name/2004/05/file_name.html
    In WP I need to redirect to:
    website.com/archives/the_category_name/2004/05/file-name/
    OR
    website.com/archives/2004/05/file-name/
    In WP I’m having two issues…
    1. There appears to be no category option for the permalinks.
    If this is this the case, is my only option to create a rewite rule for every single category I have?
    2. I’ve tried Adam’s Fixing MT URLs for WP plugin
    which works great for similar formats, but when trying to strip out the “.html” by adding…
    $redir = str_replace('.html', '', $redir);
    I had no luck.
    If anyone has any ideas, let me know.
