msqlconnect.access denied for user

  • Cannot install WordPress using Fantastico on VHS hosting acount. Here’s error I get:

    Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user ‘survival’@’localhost’ (using password: YES) in /tmp/cpanel_phpengine.1290495732.9554whGWUQvE2p on line 1641
    Access denied for user ‘survival’@’localhost’ (using password: YES)
    I have had Liquid Web working on this for the last 6 hours but they can’t find what the problem is.

    I wpild appreciate someone who has knowledge about this to give some direction. Regards, David

  • Ensure that you are using the correct password and that the db user has full privileges.

    ESMI,
    I checked and the database info is correct. I even went so far as changing my database user and password and checking off all priviledges and the results are the same as in my previous post.

    There’s very little that anyone can add here. The best people to investigate this are your hosts.
