• I was wondering if there was a plugin that would bring up the little star on the msn list. The one that means that contact has recently updated there blog. Then it takes you to there blog.

I want to know if there is a plugin that will tell msn that you have updated your blog.

  • Not such a good plugin or anything, but If myspace supports XML/RSS, use a RSS plugin to retrieve that and let it know the site is updated i guess?

A plugin isn’t needed. You can signup to send alerts with MSN. I don’t recall if it relies on the built-in pinging or just the RSS feed, but there’s no plugin required; it works fine with WordPress out of the box.

Wow…. A very interesting sign-up process… I havent completed… Waited for one more email. It looks like it wont let me hook it up to my msn contact card… MSN, recently they have been innovative in a few ways, especially with their Messenger, but sometimes, they aren’t executing them very well….. There needs to be more control given to the end user…. Will update to see how this MSN Alerts business goes…

Ah. I don’t use MSN at all, so I guess I’m not familiar with what you meant by contact cards, but the MSN Alerts work fine. The only drawback is that they sometimes send out an Alert if you edit a post, but I haven’t had that happen since I installed the Smart Update Pinger plugin. So I guess it must rely on pinging somehow.

I guess that would work, but I just got to figure out what MSN Spaces pings to make it come up on the MSN contact list.

now it is possible I did a plugin for that https://www.adidap.com/projects/smtp-cross-posting/
