• We want to use a form with fields to collect data from a hosted WordPress website and then have the data update a Microsoft SQL server database somewhere else on the Internet. We prefer to use Gravity forms, but that is not a requirement. We are MSSQL experts and know how to build web services and how to open a port for SQL inserts. But, we are not WP experts. Any suggestions how we should approach this?

  • Gravity Forms has a whole heap of hooks that will let you do pretty much everything that you need. You will need to figure out the PHP code to set up the hooks, and then you’ll be able figure out a web service or remote call to your MSSQL server to process the data. The Gravity Forms part of it should be done with their support (commercial products aren’t supported by these forums).
