    Hello,
Today I discovered the mp3 podcast I posted on my blog uploaded less than 10% of the file. Every time I try, same problem.
I have resaved the sound file from the source. I have opened the file on my computer’s iTunes with no fault apparent. I have deleted the post and created a new one. All to no avail.
The thing is, it appears to upload the whole thing; it takes the time it should take to upload a 45MB file, but it has actually only loaded 3 MB of it. I have never had this problem before.
    Any suggestions are well appreciated.

  • I believe you are running into the maximum upload limit for php.

    The default is 2MB allowed.

So in order to change that you would have to gain access to the php.ini. For example: on my local environment where I have access to php.ini, I have mine set to like 3GB instead of 2MB (some hosts do not allow access to it, though).

My advice: Upload it using ftp.

Thanks for the reply. Here’s what I can’t understand.

I have done this successfully at least a dozen times. Why it’s suddenly uploading 47 minutes of sound file but playing three is strange.

    Please note this screenshot: https://www.jessjurkovic.com/x/the-problem/

The timer on the sound file clearly says 47:18 of sound, yet on the right, the info lists the file as 3:09. It appears that it IS uploading the whole file; it just won’t play it.

I have a feeling this is as simple as having used up my media allotment. If so, I wish I could find out in a more concrete way (say, “sorry, you have no more room in your media files”).

well, maybe try just doin the the old fashioned way?
Upload it to youtube and then grab the embed.

Although…have you tried re-encoding the podcast? (Just a thought)
