To make you clear , Popular post tab will list the post which has maximum no of comment i.e post are displayed as popular post by counting the no of comments . Those which have maximum comment will be listed in the popular post tab .
So please once verify by counting the no of comment in each post . If the post with more no of comment is not listed in the popular post tab then please kindly let us know.
Also for your info while testing the theme locally, it is working fine .
