Hi, my WordPress site is currently installed in a folder called “wp”. I want to rename the folder “blog”, as I’ll soon be creating a new site with a domain name and feel it would look better as “blog” than as “wp”. I just want to know, how do I do it? I know that I could just rename the folder as “blog”, but wouldn’t that cause some problems? Don’t I also have to change something in my WP Admin Options section?

    Thanks.

  • It’s easy ??

In Options, change the two urls to what you want
    Logout
Using your ftp client, rename ‘wp’ to ‘blog’
    Login.

    That’s it !

    Ah, ok, thanks!

    HI,

I recently moved my site from the folowing structure:

    /blog/wordpress/

    to just this

    /wordpress/

when I upgraded to 2.0 Now some people that are used to accessing my blog under https://joebolte.com/blog are getting 404 errors. What do I need to add to my .htaccess file to redirect people to the page they seek from a url which includes “blog”? If possible, I would like to send an http 302 redirect to help search engines. I know a bit about regular expressions, but I couldn’t find any lines that didn’t give me server error for every page in my site. Thanks in advance for any help.
