Moving WP Directories

  • How do I rename my WP directory? I tried just renaming the folder but it acts all funky. I’m using the latest nightly – 4/15.

  • Rename your folder to it’s original name. Change the name in Web address (URI) in General Options then rename your wp folder (should work).

    Works–I can see index.php–but archive pages are missing.

    Nevermind, fixed. I think something happened to my .htaccess during the move, either wasn’t there or its permissions weren’t correct, and so it wouldn’t show pages with mod_rewrite’d URIs.

    most FTP clients dont even show .hta file.
    some servers hide it all together. the only way i can access my hta is through file manager on cpanel. ??
