    Hi :),

Today I have a multisite wordpress network containing some different blogs and an Woocommerce webstore. If possible I want to move the webstore to the root level so that it will be the main site of my wordpress network.
Then I want the webstore to have adress https://www.domain-name.no instead of https://www.domain-name.no/webstore.

Does it exist a safe way to do this operation? I am some afraid of messing it up as I don’t have deep knowledge in wordpress.

If this is difficult an alternative may be to move the webstore to a new directory inside the multisite network, where the other sites is located.
So that it can be accessed from my network admin with same password as the other sites. Today I first have to log into the network and then log in again to the webstore which is cumbersome.

Current root directory shown below with webstore directory (no.3 from top).

Below is shown the content in my webstore file directory located in root level.

    Wp-content directory shown below.

Wp-content\uploads directory shown below. This directory seems to contain files for my main site and the other sites in the network (in the sites dir.).

Wp-content\uploads\sites. This contains my different homepages with blogs.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @kjell67,

Absolutely! WooCommerce is compatible with multisite networks out of the box, and this also applies to most of the extensions we support on WooCommerce.com.

For more insights, the Codeable team has written an article on this topic. I think you’ll find it quite helpful: https://www.codeable.io/blog/wordpress-multisite-woocommerce/

    Hi Saif,
Thank you so much for info. I have to consider what to do and how I want it to work. I enabled multisite after installing the webstore to my single wordpress site. I think that is the reason why I need to log into webstore seperatly.

    Hi @kjell67

From your provided information, it appears you have converted your single WordPress site into a multisite and you’re having to log into your webstore separately. This is a common occurrence when the multisite feature is enabled after the installation of WooCommerce.

In a WordPress multisite setup, each site technically has its own separate login. So, if you have a site for your main content and a separate site for your webstore, you would need to log into each separately unless you implement a shared login or user synchronization plugin.

If you’d prefer to have a unified login, you might consider a plugin like ‘User Session Synchronizer‘, which allows you to share login sessions between your sites. This means, if a user logs into one site, they will be logged into all the sites within your multisite network.

Alternatively, you can consider a multisite user management plugin. Plugins like Multisite User Management automatically places users into each site’s user list, allowing for a more unified login experience. I found some resources online that might help you understand WordPress Multisite User Management:

Before installing any plugin, please make sure to back up your site to prevent any potential data loss.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If you have any other questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to ask.

    Thanks!
