Moving uploads folder out of root!?

  • Hi,

    I want to move the uploads folder out of root but I cannot get it to work.

    If I use the correct paths in miscellaneous -> options then when I try and upload and image, the image uploads and the diretory is created but the image i insert in to wordpress just has the little X on it.

    So basically the directory is being uploaded to properly but the link url does not work once included in the post.

    What is the correct procedure when implementing this, I think this something to do with permalinks but aren’t sure.
