Moving to wordpress – loosing all links/ranks/seo?

  • Just got my own domain and wordpress and imported all my blog posts from typepad to the new blog.

    Is there anyway to keep my technorati rank and links etc., or is it all ‘start from scratch’ for me now?

  • Sorry, but I think you’ll have to take the hit.

    Unless something has changed over at TypePad recently, you can’t really do anything on your TP site that would redirect to your new site in such a way that allows you to retain links, rankings and the like. I know a few who made such a move, and they seemed to benefit by starting fresh with their WordPress installation, while leaving their TypePad sites up as an archive of sorts (with plenty of pointers to the new locale).
