Moving content to new installation

I got hacked with a virus. I didn’t back up the xml data base the right way. I uninstalled and reinstalled in godaddy.com

I previously downloaded all root files from ftp, thinking I could simply copy and paste over new installation in the event of something like this, by changing info in the wp-config.php file. I’m sure I have done this successfully before..

After doing the above, my old content is still not showing. Which other files in the root directory do I need to edit to point to new database?
