    Hi folks!

first of all I’d like to thanks for the time spend on my doubts.

    I’ll summarize the scenario:
    1. I changed my domain and my host
    2. The old WP site was on a subfolder called: “web” inside of the the main folder “www”
    3. I changed the name of the data base that I imported

I installed WP in my new host, and I imported my new db .sql

What I mean about ‘my new db’ is that I opened the .sql file and I changed the user/password, the url domain, …

So, it seemed all was ok but when I tried to login:
    https://www.mynewsite.com/wp-login.php

the first suspect thing was that it seemed that there wasn’t css file. I wrote the user and password and the next page loaded was void, and it the url:
    https://www.mynewsite.com/web/…

it seemed that the old path was remembered.

Then I thought that I could delete the path “/web” from the .sql file. I did so, and I tried to import once again. The error was worst than the first …

    I’m lost

    Could someone help me, please?

    Thanks a lot!

  • I would recommend following the steps outline here.
I hope you’ve got a backup copy of that database. The database will have a few paths that need to be changed. It’s presenting a different scenario, but this tutorial also provides a step by step way of moving a WordPress install. Be sure to check out comment #10 there too.
