EAch time I publish a post the title is always at the bottom of each post. I want it at the top. How do I get this changed?

The post about the Birthday party has a picture icon in it and the date is huge. It was also showing my user name at the top of the post. So I tried switching that out with a smiley face to correct things, but it didn’t help. The title of this post is also at the bottom and not at the top.

The other post the title is at the bottom and not at the top.

    WordPress is really confusing!!

    my site is https://www.mylifemystoriesmyway.com

  • 2 posts 2 issues here.

    The BD post:

It has post format = status assigned to it, and theme designs it like so that the it has author’s name (you set this in your Profile in WP admin and it appears to be the smiley sign) along with the author’s avatar image (you set this at gravatar.com using the same email with your WP profile) at the top of the post, and there is no post title display.

    The Sassy photo post:

It has post format = image assigned to it, and theme designs it like so, the post title is at bottom, because it wants to display the image first and use post title as image’s title.

I strongly suggest not using any of the post format (leave them as default) and all the posts will be just post. If you keep writing post and assgin post format like this, you will have problem when changing theme, there is no standard in how themes make use of post formats.

IMHO post format in WP is a wrong decision. It seems to me that WP wanted to get Tumblr’s users in so it created post format, but look at the real usage, there is no ligitimate usage of post format in WP.

Post format UI couldn’t make it to core.

So leave that post format checkbox alone, keep it as default to just post, use just “tag” to manage your posts.

I understand what I did by using the smiley face, I was trying to eliminate my user name from showing up in large format across the top of my post. So I changed that out to be a :). I’m not sure why the avitar is showing up on one post and not the other.

The issue that still remains is why are my post titles at the bottom of each post and not at the top where they should be.

When logged in, go to each of your posts, look over to the right for post format meta box

    select “Standard” and click save.
