Moving the Preheader over the header image

I just recently changed my company’s website to the Minamaze Pro theme and I am having more issues than I anticipated.

Every time I try to enable the social media icons and search bar pre-header, I get a black box under my header image but before my logo/menu links. I’ve changed the colors for the preheader in the custom styling area, but it always comes out black.

I need to be transparent and have it float above my header image. Is this at all possible? Right now I have the pre-header disabled since it looks like an eyesore, but now my header looks too empty.
