Hi, I’m really interested in using Amazon link engine, however I’d like to find something out before downloading it.

My website is currently being designed and is not yet hosted on my domain. It is currently a subdomain on a friend’s website. Do I have to wait until it’s on my domain before I can download the plugin and start creating links? Will they uphold during the transfer?

Additionally, I don’t want to open affiliate accounts with Amazon stores until the website is on my domain and I know where the traffic is coming from. Is it possible to create geo-localised links intially in Amazon link engine and then at a later date update these links to become affiliate ones via Geniuslink?

Thanks very much in advance for any help you are able to provide.

    Kind regards
    Agustin

    Hi Augustin,

You will have to be in control of the website in order to download the plugin and connect it with your Geniuslink account. Once you download the plugin and connect it to your Geniuslink account, it will automatically affiliate and geo-localize all Amazon links across the entire site with your affiliate parameters that you have added into your Geniuslink account.

If you just want to create geo-localized Amazon links in the meantime, you can do this without even downloading the plugin. Simply go to our main site at https://www.geni.us/ and create an account. Then you can create individual links with our link creator tool and publish them to your site. If you just want them to be localized, you just won’t need to add your affiliate data to your Geniuslink account. When you decide to open Amazon Associates accounts, simply add that information to your Geniuslink account and the links will automatically start affiliating with your Amazon Associates’ tags.

That may be the best bet for your current situation as it doesn’t require you to be in control of the domain and should allow the links to transfer seamlessly to your new site.

I hope that helps. Please let us know if we can help with anything else.

    Cheers,
    Team Geniuslink
