Moving site from Dev to Live

    I am creating a complicated site (using Tag Groups) on a development server. Once it is signed off on, I will move it to a live domain. Will I lose all of my tags when I do this, since the plugin asks you to activate based on domain?

  • The plugin always offers the Setup Wizard when you activate it, but you can safely skip it.

    Tags are not saved with the plugin, but they belong to the default WordPress installation. When you move the complete database (particularly tags, tag meta and options) it will contain the tags, the tag groups and all settings.

    None of the settings or plugin data contains any information about the domain. Links in tag clouds and tag lists are generated when rendering the page and you only may have to purge the cache of any caching plugin if you use one.
