moving site from a to b and needed this plugin

i do not really know why. i just wanted to move my site from webspace a to webspace b. so i did that, changed the IPs in DNS settings of cloudflare and voila i was suddenly trapped in an infinite redirection loop. for some reason my webspace b provider does not allow me to acitvate ssl on the domain. i stumpled upon this plugin which seems to fix my issue. so thank you! but i have to admit i still do not understand whats going on ??
