    Hello,

I’m hoping someone can help me – I’m developing a new design and concept for my blog but want to keep the old content and posts in case I want to contribute to it again.

I figured out how to move all my old posts to a new page by going to General > Reading then clicking “A Static Page” under Front Page Displays and choosing my front page as “Home” and my posts page as “Picky Episodes” (aka the page where I want to keep my old post content). But now the “Home” page won’t feature my latest posts, only the “Picky Episodes” page will.

How can I make my “Home” page behave like the “Picky Episodes” page? Is there an option for me to decide which page my newest posts will be routed? In other words, how can I get a new page behave like the main page where my latest posts are kept?

Does this make sense? Can anyone help me find a solution – maybe I went about this in the wrong way?

    Thank you! – Maggie

Using a Child Theme, I think you could do that by making the same template available to both pages. Or, maybe there is a plugin that could help.

Thanks for the input! I tried a “redirect” plug in but it is asking to redirect a post with a URL so I’m not sure what to do there…I think it is too advanced for me.

How do I make a “child theme” to have the same template on both pages? I see a “Parent” option under Page Attributes but I don’t see anything about children. To start, do you mind explaining what a “child theme” is?

    I appreciate your help!

I found a way to do it!

I made a new menu that would post categories as pages so I categorized all the posts I wanted in “Picky Episodes” the same and they routed to my new “Picky Episodes” page.
