    Hello,

I moved my multisite installation from server.com to localhost.localdomain using a find/replace script on the database to replace all instances of server.com to localhost.localdomain. All the sites work fine except for the main root site at localhost.localdomain.

I can’t upgrade my network, and now that I upgraded to wordpress 3.1 I can’t even get to the network without wordpress saying:

One or more database tables are unavailable. The database may need to be repaired

When i go to repair I get all these errors like:

Failed to repair the wp_posts table. Error: Table ‘database.wp_posts’ doesn’t exist

Now I wouldn’t think there would be a wp_posts in a multisite installation so I don’t know why it thinks there should be one.

When I go to localhost.localdomain it just says ‘error establishing a database connection’. Before I upgraded, when I went to sites under super admin this root blog would show up with no title and when i went to edit it there were no options. What can I do?

    Thanks

  • Did you also change the values in wp-config.php?

    Hello,

I don’t know exactly how this problem arose, but I didn’t have any wp_options, wp_posts etc. I only had wp_1_posts, wp_1_options… So I renamed these tables, removing the _1, and now my root site displays just fine.

The one problem left is that I can’t log into my main site (or network admin). When i get to localhost.localdomain/wp-login.php I try to log in and the page just redirects to itself, meaning I can never get into the admin section. How do I fix this?

    Thanks again.

Another thing: When I go from site to site in my multisite installation, wordpress doesn’t remember that I was logged in and I have to log in all over again.

public radio, I’m having the EXACT same problem with logging in – and it didn’t happen till I moved the site from a domain to a subdomain. I also have duplicate copies of tables with _2 after them, and I’m not sure if that’s causing the problem or not, but of course I’m deathly afraid to delete them and cause more problems… if I find a solution I will post back, although I’m still waiting for help myself ??

. I also have duplicate copies of tables with _2 after them, and I’m not sure if that’s causing the problem or not,

Each blog in the network makes tables with _X in them. So you have the main blog tables with no number, then all the _2 tables, then if you have a third site, there will be _3 tables….
