Moving just the homepage of WordPress

The easiest option would be simply to create a htaccess redirect.

SO, to just direct sitename.com/folder/index.php to the root directory? This won’t cause any problems?

No. Redirect the main directory to sitename.com/folder/index.php .

Well, that article talks about moving wordpress fron the root, to its own directory, whereas I want to just move the homepage of WordPress from its own directory, into the root directory.

So? Skip the “moving” part and apply what you have to do in order to keep the WP index in the root.

d’oh! you are completely right. If anyone, for any reason, is as dumb as me, the simple way to do this is:

1. upload index.php to your root directory
2. change the blog address URI to your root (yoursite.com)
3. change your permalink structure
