• Hi.

I have moved hosts. I did everything it said when doing this. I download a sql back up file. I have created a new database with my new host, reinstalled wordpress 2.0 (I had 1.5 before) When I try and restore the database sql file through myphpadmin I get the following:

“#1064 – You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=14’ at line 9”

And now the blog looks like this

Is it a problem with using a wp1.5 sql database file in wp2.0? Why do I get the syntax error in myphpadmin?

    please help, thankyou very much

  • The database schema has been changed. You should install 1.5.x (what the database was created in), import the DB, and then do the upgrade to 2.0.
