Moving Hosts – How Do I Move My Site Content?

I’m moving our WP site from one web host to another. I’ve done the backup on the old site. The Name Servers will be changed at the domain registrar tonight to point to the new host. WP & DNS records were installed at the hosting account as part of our account setup process.
My question is how am I supposed to import the content to the new site so it’s up and running when the name server change is done? Do I have to wait until the new hosting site is active and then install the plugin for importing? I’d rather do something in the CPanel so we have minimum down time if that’s possible.

Export the contents of your database using PHPMyAdmin (accessible via cPanel) and then import it into the database on the new host. Essentially performing a database backup on the current host:

Then restoring it on the new host:

You can do this before the nameserver change without causing any issues.
