Hi I need help. I had synced a site from production to staging and did updates on staging within GoDaddy’s platform. I submitted the changes from staging to sync back with production but the submission got stuck in the process and a customer service rep from GoDaddy reset the account to fix it. The production site was working just fine before all this happened.

But now when I go on the site I see “There has been a critical error on this website….” I don’t think I am experienced enough with debugging. Restoring my backups doesn’t seem to address the issue either.

Ideally, I would like to just have the exact copy from what I have in staging from production. How can I address this?

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
