moving file to root directory

  • In step 9 of ‘moving files’ it is written:

    “step 9.Move your WordPress core files to the new location. This includes the files found within the original directory, such as https://example.com/wordpress, and all the sub-directories, to the new location. “

    where to move?
    in filezilla.

  • If you want to install WP in root directory i.e https://www.domain.com/ it’s different which you upload to which folder.
    it could be public_html / httpdocs / www /…

    for test you can make html file like test.html and upload into your root directory if it’s available from your https://www.domain.com/test.html so that’s your root directory.
