Moving Database to fresh wordpress install

  • Hello,

    I’m a new user and I would like some help. I have received a hosting plan from a client and I installed a fresh wordpress installation on it. Now when I upload a database from the old site, none of the posts and pages show up in the back-end.
    Is this normal?

    When you IMPORT thew old database to the new host, make sure that the prefix of the database tables matches the prefix set in wp-config.php. The default is “wp_”. What do you see on the tables you import?
