moving blog to new domain (but same webhost) – no idea how

Hello people,

I’m trying to move my blog to a new domain (with the same webhost.) Unfortunately, any information that’s available, such as on the WordPress site, is for a pretty technically educated audience.

For instance, I’m told to ‘back up my database’. I hardly know what a database is, let alone where to find it, much less to update it. Or I’m told to ‘edit my wp-config.php to suit the new server.’ Oh right….just edit it to suit the new server…

But…HOW? Is there some information somewhere on moron-level? As it is, I’m never going to get the job done.
