Moving blog to a new directory

So I’ve looked at a few of the how-tos, but they don’t make much sense to me. I think my problem’s pretty simple: I have wordpress installed in my main directory on my personal site (www.kurt-anderson.com), but I want it to be on a subdirectory URL (“/main”).
I don’t care where the files are located; if they can stay in the main directory, great. If not, great. (Some of the how-tos refer to moving “all wordpress files,” but never list which those are or where they are located, so I don’t really want to start guessing.)
Anyway, that’s what I’d like to do. Any suggestions?
